                        Headley Green History

Most people who live in the Headley Green                                                      Subdivision don't know that from the sixties thru the                                        eighties, the 44 acres here was once a very nice,                                            lighted 18 hole par 3 golf course with a driving range to 300 yards (Located where the houses are now that back up to the Lexington Country Place),  and a nice putt-putt (Located when you first come into the subdivision at the lower part of Chandler Lane).  If you happen to add  a room addition  or dig up a garden, you might find a driving range ball, marked with 2 red dotted lines around the ball.  It's now a very nice subdivision with 185 homes close to shopping, hospitals, many restaurants, downtown Lexington, Blugrass Airport,  and the University of Kentucky.
Homes are comprised of patio homes, ranch homes, and one and two story homes, some with brick fronts, others mostly brick.  Houses here range from the $320k to $450k price range and sell very quickly.  Below is an overview of the neighborhood, as shown  on Google maps, along side the Gay Brewer Jr. Golf Course across Mason Headley Road.  Below that was the par 3 golf course that Barlow Homes purchased around 1994.

Headley Green Overview.jpg
Here was the Headley Green area in 1966, a very nice par 3 golf course with lights, a driving range and an 18 hole putt-putt.  The driving range is on the right side, right below the putt-putt area.
